IG Markets has announced that its trading platform for the iPad is now available for download from the App Store.
The newly developed IG Markets iPad application allows clients to trade CFDs on IG’s complete range of markets while taking full advantage of the iPad’s usability and power.
We are told that IG Markets is unlike some other financial dealing iPad applications currently on the market, and it is not just an adaptation of an existing iPhone application either – it’s been designed precisely to make the best use of the unique functionality of the iPad.
iPad-specific features include:
- Fully customisable interface: Intuitive and user-friendly.
- Dual-view capability: See charts, watchlists, open positions, and working orders side-by-side.
- Market details panel: Data, charts and news all in one easy-to-digest view.
- iPad-optimised shortcuts: Deal quickly and efficiently.
The market for tablet devices keeps growing unabated both in the United Kingdom and in foreign markets, with the iPad starting to become one of the most popular choice amongst clients not least because the iPad’s larger display and touch screen capabilities allows CFD providers to offer an optimal trading experience.
Arman Tahmassebi, Managing Director of IG Markets, commented:
‘The launch of our iPad offering means we’re now offering IG clients an unparalleled choice when it comes to trading on a mobile device. We’re already offering dedicated applications for BlackBerry, iPhone and Android smartphones, while software is also available to download for a range of more traditional handsets. Rounding all this off, our Windows Phone 7 platform is well under development too.’
Trading with IG Markets on the iPad will offer speculators the functionality to customise the trading system, showing a mix of watchlists, trade tickets and charts to be displayed simultaneously. Additionally, non-clients can download the app free of charge and receive access to a range of live quotes including the IG Markets FTSE 100 price.
It is estimated* that 3.62 million people presently own tablet computers in the United Kingdom, with Apple having a 73% share. Forecasts state that a further two million devices will be sold in the country during 2012.
The iPhone app has already proved to be hugely popular with IG clients and it now accounts for about 15% of total processed transactions with the company. IG Markets is hoping that the bigger screen and highly customisable layout of the iPad platform will make the iPad at least as compelling a proposition.
